Six sectors.
One partner.
23 years of proof.
Batitech's capability base spans every major infrastructure sector in Ghana. The same ISO-certified quality management and safety systems apply across all six verticals, giving international partners a single credentialed delivery entity regardless of project type.
Power distribution and smart grid infrastructure
Power distribution is Batitech's longest-standing and deepest capability. The company has executed continuous contracts with the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for more than 20 years, covering network rehabilitation, transformer installation and replacement, low-voltage and medium-voltage line construction, smart metering infrastructure, substation civil works, and emergency fault response operations.
The scope of this work spans Greater Accra, Ashanti, Western, and Central regions, with emergency response capability operating around the clock. Batitech's ECG execution history is documented at the project level — specific sites, specific years, specific contract values — providing the kind of evidence that Korea Eximbank and World Bank procurement teams require when evaluating local partner track records rather than general pre-qualification letters.
Smart grid modernisation is the current frontier. As ECG's USD 100-150 million Phase 1 Smart Grid Modernisation programme moves toward World Bank procurement, Batitech's 20-year ECG distribution network experience and existing pre-qualification position it as the natural civil works and installation partner for any Korean EPC technology provider entering this programme.
Capability scope: LV and MV network construction and rehabilitation, transformer installation (up to 500 kVA), substation civil works, smart metering installation, SCADA infrastructure civil works, cable jointing and termination, streetlighting, emergency fault response and grid monitoring.
Renewable energy and solar infrastructure
Batitech has completed over 1,000 solar installations across Ghana, ranging from rooftop systems to ground-mounted commercial installations. The company is pre-qualified with the Volta River Authority and the Renewable Energy Fund, covering both grid-connected and off-grid renewable energy projects.
VRA's 50 MW solar power plant programme — targeted for EDCF and PIS Phase 2 financing — represents the next scale of renewable energy engagement. Batitech's VRA relationship and solar execution history position it for the civil works and O&M components of this project: site preparation and earthworks, panel foundations and mounting structure installation, access road construction, fencing and perimeter security, grid connection civil works, and post-commissioning operations and maintenance.
Climate finance alignment: renewable energy projects executed by Batitech qualify for Green Climate Fund, AGIA, and KIND Green Infrastructure Export Support Fund co-financing. The carbon reduction component of solar and smart grid projects creates additional financing layers available to properly structured SPVs.
Capability scope: ground-mounted solar PV civil works, rooftop system installation, off-grid solar with battery storage, wind energy civil works, hydropower rehabilitation civil works, grid connection infrastructure.
Roads and civil engineering
Batitech holds D1 and K1 Ministry of Works and Housing classifications at Financial Class 1 Unlimited — the highest classification tier, with no ceiling on contract value. This covers both general building works (D1) and civil works (K1), and enables participation in the full spectrum of road and civil engineering procurement.
Road execution capability spans new construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance across all road classes. The company has active pre-qualification with the Ministry of Roads and Highways and Ghana Highway Authority, and has delivered projects across all regions of Ghana, including urban arterial roads, rural feeder roads, drainage systems, culverts, and earthworks.
The Accra-Kumasi Expressway — a 198.7km, 6-lane greenfield Class A expressway in feasibility — will be awarded in 3-5 lots when procurement opens. Each lot represents a separate consortium partnership opportunity. Batitech's road construction classification and Ghana Highway Authority pre-qualification make it a natural civil works partner for any Korean EPC contractor entering the expressway consortium process.
Capability scope: road construction and rehabilitation (all classes), drainage design and construction, earthworks and cut-and-fill, retaining structures, culverts and bridges (civil works), site preparation, soil stabilisation, traffic management infrastructure.
Telecommunications infrastructure
Batitech has delivered over 300 telecommunications sites across Ghana for Vodafone, MTN, and Globacom, covering tower erection, BTS installation, microwave link installation, generator installation, and preventive maintenance programmes. The company's telecoms capability is an extension of its civil works and power distribution expertise — tower foundations require the same earthworks capacity, and BTS power supply requires the same electrical installation capability.
Digital infrastructure civil works is an emerging opportunity as data centre construction accelerates in Accra. PAIX, Africa Data Centres, and Agility Logistics Parks are all expanding in the Ghana market. Every data centre facility requires reinforced foundations, dedicated power supply infrastructure, cooling system civil works, fibre conduit, and perimeter security — all within Batitech's existing capability set.
Capability scope: telecommunications tower erection and installation, BTS and microwave equipment installation, generator and power supply installation, co-location infrastructure, preventive maintenance, data centre civil works and power infrastructure, fibre conduit installation.
Building and industrial construction
Batitech's building and construction capability covers commercial buildings, industrial facilities, institutional structures, warehouses, and factory buildings. The company is pre-qualified with Ghana Airports Company, Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), and GNPC for institutional and industrial construction. Projects include airport ancillary facilities, educational and institutional buildings, petroleum sector infrastructure, and commercial developments.
University housing PPP is a growing opportunity under Ghana's GETFund mandate. A housing deficit exceeding 20,000 beds across KNUST, University of Ghana, and UCC creates a structured PPP opportunity for build-operate-transfer models. Batitech's GETFund pre-qualification and building construction capability position it for the civil works and O&M components of such structures.
Capability scope: commercial and institutional building construction, industrial facility construction, warehouse and storage facility construction, factory civil works, modular and prefabricated construction, fit-out and refurbishment, facilities management and O&M.
Port and maritime civil works
Batitech holds pre-qualification with the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), covering port and maritime civil works. This encompasses quay and berth civil works, terminal and yard construction, port access road and drainage infrastructure, warehouse and logistics facility construction, and port utility infrastructure.
GPHA's pre-qualification is a credential that distinguishes Batitech's capability profile for international partners assessing port and logistics infrastructure in Ghana. Tema Port — West Africa's largest port — and Takoradi Port are both GPHA-managed assets with ongoing expansion programmes relevant to Ghana's AfCFTA positioning as a regional logistics hub.
Capability scope: quay and berth civil works, terminal and hardstand construction, port drainage and utility infrastructure, warehouse and logistics facility construction, port access road construction.
